Whaoo! tasked the Noise team to find a way to reinforce the brand image as a healthy snack that is part of an active lifestyle.
We chose to engage with the Sport4Kids scheme, which promotes sports and activity with schoolkids during the holidays. As a fun, active and exciting programme, it was the perfect match for the brand.
Noise continued its ongoing campaign to take Whaoo! marketing directly to the customers with an interactive adventure trail at the Trevelyan and Fullbrook Sport4Kids projects. Focussed firmly on the kids, and incorporating essential exercise elements, the event built strong associations between the brand and healthy snacking.
The Adventure Trail at Sport4Kids was a scaled down, value for money version of our recent promotion at Chessington World of Adventures. On this occasion, rather than finding QR codes at animal enclosures, participants searched for numerical codes on cards placed around the venue on all kinds of sports equipment.
The children, all from the brand’s key demographic of ages 5-12, worked in groups, with older children working in relays to add to the competitive element. All participants received a Whaoo! medal at the end of the day and received a purple drawstring bag containing their Whaoo! samples.
The key aim of the promotion was to create strong associations between the brand and healthy lifestyles. In total, the Adventure Trail involved over 2,300 steps, coving a distance of almost 2km. This means that participation required approximately the same number of calories as are found in a Whaoo! crepe – illustrating that fun snacking can be incorporated into a healthy, active lifestyle.
The promotion also underlined the Whaoo! commitment to engagement and education. All participants received a copy of the digital Adventure Trail book, packed with fun facts about the brand’s animal characters. This was personalised to the event with a team photo on the cover. The booklet was e-mailed out to parents following the event, building a database of new customers for future marketing activity.
The Sport4Kids event proves that Noise can create promotional activities on any scale. We have the imagination and the experience to adapt our ideas to fit your budget, while still generating genuine engagement and positive brand associations that increase both awareness and sales.
The promotion maintained the momentum of Whaoo! activity in 2022, particularly in the South of England, keeping the brand front of mind.
The partnership with Sport4Kids meant that the brand was further linked with excitement, activity and adventure. It built positive associations between Whaoo! and healthy living with both the target demographic and their parents.
The free digital books built on the brand’s reputation for supporting education and learning, as first established in the Back to School Essentials giveaway created by Noise.
