PHP / My SQL Back end developer

Job Type: Permanent

The Role:

This role is focused on managing the interchange of data between the application and the browser. This successful candidate will be tasked with the server-side of programming for the web, yet also understands the programming languages which control the display of content in the browser.

The Role:

We are a forward thinking and growing marketing agency, based in Lancaster, seeking an Account Manager who is a hard-working, energetic, organised individual with great people skills, and who can work well within a team or independently.

Account Managers serve as a link between clients and the agency.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the clients' projects. You will be required to liaise between the client and a range of agency staff in order to co-ordinate the details of marketing, film projects and experiential campaigns.

You will be required to work closely with clients throughout the various campaigns, managing administrative and organisational work, and ensuring that the work is reliably completed on time and on budget.

Main Industry: Industrial, FMCG, Commercial and Public Sector

Skills: Advertising, Marketing & PR, Film, SEO, PPC, Social Media

Experience Required:

2-3 years’ experience in the following areas - client services or sales, media relations, writing, research, or communications/services. Candidates should have excellent written, verbal communication and Project Management skills.

Candidates should also possess basic Information Technology skills, particularly having some experience of MS Office programs (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Social Media skills would also be considered an advantage.
Good administrative and co-ordination skills are essential. Prior experience of working in a busy digital agency would be an advantage, as too would experience in search engine optimisation techniques, web development, online marketing techniques and affiliate marketing.

Training will be given where required, although the successful candidate will be expected to use their own initiative and grow in the role.

Qualifications gained through the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) (www.cim.co.uk), such as the Professional Certificate in Marketing, or similar, would be an advantage, but not essential.

Flexible hours of work may sometimes be necessary given the high pressure, deadline-focused nature of the role.

Typical Work Activities:

Activities revolve around the running of marketing campaigns as follows:

• Discussing the products, services and marketing requirements of each particular client
• Delegating work to other members of the agency team
• Working with the team to brief media, creative and research staff, and assist with the formulation of marketing strategies 
• Liaising with, and acting as the link between, the client and agency by maintaining regular contact with both and ensuring that communication flows effectively
• Overseeing the status of marketing campaigns
• Negotiating with clients and agency staff about the details of campaigns
• Presenting creative work to clients for approval or modification
• Meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks
• Handling budgets and managing campaign costs
• Writing reports, keeping records and financial details
• Helping to secure new business; Negotiate contracts and complete agreements
• Monitoring the profitability of accounts
• Becoming familiar with the nature of clients' products, business culture and competition and understanding the possibility of changes to these
• Monitoring the effectiveness of campaigns
• Arranging and attending meetings and reporting on key decisions
• General administration
• Be able to work effectively when working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Good time-management skills
